Join us for a Raku firing workshop! No prior experience necessary.

Participants can either bring their own pieces of handmade bisqueware (1-2 pieces) or buy a piece of bisqueware from us for an additional $20 (participants can pay onsite at the start of the class with credit card or cash). If participants bring their own bisqueware, it must be no taller than 12" and no wider than 8".

Raku firing is an exciting and unpredictable pottery technique. Ceramic pieces are quickly fired in a gas kiln, removed from the kiln while still red-hot and plunged into a combustible material like sawdust or newspaper. This deprives the piece of oxygen, causing the glaze to develop a wide range of colors. If the piece is unglazed, the clay body itself loses oxygen, often resulting in matte black areas."

Maximum of 12 students in this class.

At least 3 people must be enrolled in the class for the class to run.

Ages 12+. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Note: This is a one day, 2.5 hour class. Participants will leave class with at least one completed piece of artwork.

Cancellation Policy:

All cancellation updates must be done through email to hello@spgalleryva.com.

If you need to cancel your booking and would like a full refund we require 7 days notice prior to the date of the class. If you miss the 7 day deadline and still need to cancel there is a 50% processing fee.

Refunds are not offered for cancellations within 48 hours of the class date, day-of cancellations, or no-shows.
